PACKING
- MISCELLANEOUS
- Separately wrap dishes and fragile items before packing.
- Pack paper into bottom, top, and all empty spaces in cartons.
- Place saucers and bowls on their sides and use dish pack divider kits
for increased protection.
- If you use newspaper for packing, keep in mind that ink stains, so do
not wrap items that might be damaged by ink. To play it safe, buy a 10
lb. box of wrapping paper (unprinted) for just $10.00, available at all
locations.
- Small items, such as picture frames, silverware, etc., may be wrapped
in bubble wrap or wrapping paper, and then store in any furniture with
drawers. This will help you to utilize space to the maximum. Bubble wrap
is available by the foot, in 15 ft. rolls or 100 ft. box and for your
convenience comes in perforated sheets.
- Wrap pictures and mirrors in cardboard, stack them on their ends and
mark boxes as "FRAGILE"
- When picking boxes for moving or storing keep in mind that small boxes
are ideal for books, canned goods and heavy solid objects. Medium boxes
work best for small appliances, software, pots and pans. Large ones are
good for linens and clothes and X-Large for bulk, lighter items, combining
breakables wrapped in linens.
- Pack heavy items in small boxes, it will make moving them much easier
than if you put many of them on a large box.
- Wrap dishes and glasses in paper and pack in sturdy boxes. Provide cushioning
by using bubble wrap or paper without any print. Stack them on top.
